3 Post Operative Instructions Multiple Teeth Extraction Surgery

The tooth extraction procedure is one of the simplest oral surgeries that you can have. And when you are visiting a renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeon for that, you are already in safe hands. At the same time, you do need to follow the post-operative care instructions that the surgeon will provide you with.
If you are in North Carolina and looking for a reputed clinic to get the procedure of multiple teeth extraction done, then come to Rolle Oral and Facial Surgery. This is a renowned clinic where you can get extremely comfortable and safe procedures done by Dr. Rolle, a highly experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeon. What postoperative measures do you need to take after the surgery? Take a look at the following points.
Immediate Formation of Healing Blood Clot
After the teeth have been extracted, it is normal to have some bleeding from the surgical site. You will be instructed to bite on a gauze pad for the next 30 minutes. This should stop your bleeding and initiate the process of forming a blood clot in that place. If it still bleeds, you will be instructed to bite another gauze pad again for the next 30 minutes. The formation of the blood clot is important for starting the healing process.
Not Dislodging the Blood Clot
You will be able to go home after the procedure. But you have to take care so that the blood clot doesn’t get dislodged. Avoid rinsing your mouth with water or brushing vigorously. You should also avoid blowing motion with your mouth or exercising as too much pressure can dislodge the blood clot. Dr. Richard Rolle will instruct you the same.
Complete the Course of Medicine
You will be prescribed with Tylenol or Ibuprofen for pain management and antibiotics to keep the infection in control. So, after the procedure, you need to continue with the medicines. Don’t stop the course of antibiotics even if there is no infection. The course should be completed in order to avoid further complications in the future.
